About Me
Julia Ryan will be joining Seeds of Health Elementary as a seventh and eighth grade Social Studies Teacher. She spent her student teaching experience at Seeds and felt drawn to playing a role in cultivating its dedicated, caring, and student-focused environment after graduation.
She has been working with children in a variety of roles since being old enough to work. She spent three years leading and running a summer day camp and has worked in the Tragil Wade-Johnson Summer Reading Program at Marquette University, where she aided students in building their phonics and literacy skills to become stronger readers.
She graduated from Marquette University with bachelor’s degrees in Elementary/Middle School Education and History.
Julia is passionate about reading, having loved it her entire life, but is also a big fan of movies. An avid cook and baker, she is always looking for new recipes to try and share. She also enjoys spending time in nature and traveling, believing that there is always something to learn by doing new things and going to new places.
“My favorite thing about my chosen career is getting to watch students find their passion. Each child, each person, has their own set of skills and interests, and watching them discover what those are, the things that make them happy and motivate them, is one of the greatest parts of teaching. While I would love for my students to enjoy every subject, I find it's even more satisfying and exciting to watch them find the specific parts of learning, the topics inside the subjects, that peak their interest.”
