Dear Friends,
Seeds of Health Elementary is a K4-8th grade program which opened in 1996. We are a public charter school authorized by the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. During the 2019-2020 school year we combined the previous two campuses of Seeds of Health Elementary into one K4-8 grade cohesive program; which allows students to start with us, stay with us, and succeed with us.
Our caring, empathetic staff works to address every child’s needs taking into account each child’s specific learning interests, learning style, and talents. Seeds of Health Elementary’s highly trained and state certified teachers provide well rounded, rigorous instruction in reading, math, language arts, science, social studies, physical education, and art. Students use a variety of technology every day to enhance their learning experience. In addition, the curriculum focuses on social and emotional development as well as the skills needed to prepare students for lifelong learning. Seeds of Health Elementary’s staff specializes in providing the unique, fundamental support necessary for children living in an urban environment.
Seeds of Health Elementary has built a space where students can work independently or collaboratively to brainstorm, design, and create items based on the student’s interest, class projects, or clubs. This makerspace is utilized for various curriculum projects and after school programming. The makerspace provides hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build, and invent as they deeply engage in science and engineering with the assistance of technology. Some of this technology includes 3D printers, large format printing, robotics equipment, 3D pens, virtual reality equipment, and multimedia equipment.
Seeds of Health Elementary believes that ongoing communication and partnerships with all families is essential for successful learning. In addition to regularly scheduled parent- teacher conferences, parents are encouraged to participate in classroom activities, field trips, and a variety of parenting classes offered throughout the school year.
We invite you to visit our newly remodeled school to see firsthand how Seeds of Health Elementary can prepare your child for a bright future.
Sincerely,
Jim Kotsonis, Principal
